How Grey Raven Gallery Was Born – Our Origin Story

In 2019 Golden Road Arts, a 501(c)(3), began producing video art lessons for sharing online and teaching art to kids. The space we were using to shoot the original videos was proving much too small. Even after moving to a bigger room, we had people tripping over camera stands and each other, and knew it was time for a change.

Art Gallery & Video Production Studio Opening in Downtown Beaverton

With Barbara Mason and the team in agreement, the search was on for a larger location. Thankfully, there was a potential option near the new Patricia Reser Center for the Arts in downtown Beaverton, and after thoughtfully considering the space we decided it would be perfect.

The layout of this new location allows for a gallery in the front and the video production in the back. Grey Raven Gallery, founded by Barbara Mason and sculptor Martin Conley, will feature and sell the work of 28 artists.

Grey Raven Gallery Will Bring Art Education to Kids Year-Round

The artwork for sale in the gallery is extremely special. Not only will customers of Grey Raven Gallery receive a special piece to add to their collection, they will also be helping children access free art lessons online and in-person.

During the summer months Grey Raven Gallery will host Saturday art projects for kids, while Golden Road Arts will work with libraries in Beaverton and Hillsboro to facilitate Art in the Park.

In the fall, Golden Road Arts (with the help of Grey Raven Gallery) will continue to hold after-school art clubs in five schools. These art lessons are offered for free because of the generous donations of many contributors. Golden Road Arts and Grey Raven Gallery are magical places where art happens every day. You can help make that art happen by purchasing art in our art gallery, in-person and/or online.
