How Printmaking Makes Original Art More Accessible
Beaverton and the greater metropolitan area has an ambitious and thriving arts community. Top local artists leave their mark on this city
Home > Angelita Surmon
Angelita is best known for her layered paintings and glass work of complex tangles and thickets. Her works reflect a deep-rooted love of the landscape and an acknowledgement of the path led by other artists. Her works are informed by closeup observations of the tangled grasses and reflections at the water’s edge, and the branches and thickets of the forest understory. She has exhibited in galleries locally and nationally for over 40 years.
Angelita is an Oregon native, with BS and BFA degrees from Oregon State University. Her focus was on painting and printmaking. When she’s not in the studio or in the woods, she enjoys the spark and inspiration provided by travel. From New Guinea to New York and many places in between, it all enriches the tapestry of her art.
